Tree planting day in Labastida

TODAY, Friday, March 28, starting at 10:00 a.m., the SUBSIERRA Association has prepared a practical day of planting fruit trees in the vineyard with schoolchildren from Labastida, both from the Bastida Ikastola and the CEIP Labastida Hlhi.

Among the values of the association are the commitment to the region in which we operate and the commitment to ecology and sustainability, so promoting agricultural and wine culture, the landscape of the vineyard and that of Sonsierra among our young people, is a way of betting on the future of the region and our towns and meeting the objectives of the association.

To this end, we have developed this day in which the schoolchildren have learned first-hand how a plantation is carried out live, why fruit trees are planted and why at this time, and they have done it with their own hands guided by Subsierra professionals who have also explained to them on the ground the landscape in which we live and the viticultural heritage of the area. Specifically, 30 fruit trees have been planted: pomegranate trees, apple trees, peach trees, plum trees and cherry trees.

This first day will continue not only in the monitoring that we will do in the coming months of this first plantation, but will also take place every year in the different municipalities of the Sonsierra region.
